Cotton Bowl - Texas
1 January 2003

Diary of a Tailgater Road Trippin'

Day 1 - Dear Mum, the drive was great! Tons of rain and fireworks out the window! Then we got ready for real fun with a good meal...

Well, OK, so some of us were having a bit more fun than others. It's remarkable that Shane has learned how to sleep with his eyes open, though!

Back at the hotel, Collin, Shane and Jeff put on their party hats to get ready for New Years Eve tomorrow night! They couldn't wait!

Day 2 - New Year's Eve - PapaFord and Jeff were overwhelmed by the largest Hooters in the world!

Collin and Jeff found simple pleasures in a nearby stairway. Jeff even made a friend over lunch! Unfortunately, Jeff got no digits...

Next we went to the exciting Cotton Bowl parade. We think Shane woke up by then.
Schwartz certainly had fun with the Texas All-Star cheerleaders!

Our shoe fashion gurus showed off their club-worthy and non club-worthy footwear. Can you tell which is which?

I always thought I had good reason to wonder about Jeff's mental health.
He confirmed it for me and then went to hang out with Schwartz and more of the All-Star cheerleaders.

There's no story than can explain this picture. I shall only say this:
This is the enigma that is Shane Liles. Hey ladies, you better catch this one while you still can!

We followed the Tiger Band and Tiger fans to the pep rally area. There were lots of LSU folks...and cheerleaders, too!

Man, those cheerleaders are great!

After the pep rally we headed back to the hotel. The boys started to get ready for New Years Eve celebrations...

Day 3 - Gameday - It's quite a challenge to drink all night and be in top form for a 10am kickoff. Our crew was primed, though...can't you tell?

Day 4 - OK, so Texas whipped us, only 239 days until kickoff of the 2003 season, though!
Collin got a flat on the way back...and then Jeff defiled young Shane while he was changing the tire... That Jeff is a loon!

See what I mean?

Maybe we should look into putting him in an institution. Either that or get him a good woman...any takers?

Even after defeat the guys were in good spirits. They know we'll be ready to kick butt next year!

Then for some reason Jeff got it in his head that he could take on the Monstrosity for dessert at Cracker Barrel.

After a long battle, Jeff finally won out, although the walk back to the car got a bit treacherous at times...

In conclusion, it was a great trip, even though we lost. Can't wait for next year...it's gonna be great fun all over again!
Geaux Tigers!
